Winsen MEs-CO Carbon Monoxide Sensor
Winsen MEs-CO is a fuel-cell electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor that generates an output current proportional to CO concentration (Faraday’s law). It is designed for smart homes, commercial buildings, underground garages, and fire monitoring applications requiring reliable CO concentration measurement.
Highlights
- Range: 0–1000 ppm (max 2000 ppm)
- Sensitivity: 1.0–2.0 nA/ppm
- Resolution: 1 ppm
-
Response time: T90 < 30 s
- Lifespan: 7–10 years
- Description
Description
MEs-CO is a fuel-cell type electrochemical sensor for carbon monoxide detection. Carbon monoxide and oxygen undergo corresponding redox reactions on the electrodes and generate a current. The output current is proportional to CO concentration and follows Faraday’s law.
Key Features
- Low consumption
- High precision
- High sensitivity
- Wide linear range
- Good anti-interference ability
- Long lifespan
- Excellent repeatability and stability
Typical Applications
- Smart homes
- Commercial buildings
- Underground garages
- Fire monitoring and related safety systems

Application Notes & Cautions
- During installation, the lead can be welded, and the solder must not contact the sensor.
- Before use, power on and age the sensor for more than 48 hours.
- Do not disassemble the sensor.
- Avoid contacting organic solvents (including silicone rubber and other adhesive), coatings, medicine, oil, and high concentration gases.
- Do not encapsulate electrochemical sensors completely with resin materials and do not immerse in a non-oxygen environment; this can damage sensor function.
- Do not use in corrosive gas environments; the sensor may be damaged.
- Zero calibration should be performed in clean air.
- Avoid gas inflow directly/vertically during testing and use.
- Do not block or contaminate the inlet hole.
- Avoid excessive impact or vibration.
- Do not use the sensor if the shell is damaged or deformed.
- In high concentration gas environments, recovery to the initial state can be slow after long-term exposure.
- When storing the sensor, keep the working electrode and counter electrode in short circuit.
- Do not encapsulate the sensor with hot melt adhesive or sealant whose curing temperature is higher than 80 °C.
- Do not store or use the sensor in high concentration alkaline gas for a long time.
