Enter cylinder and test details
Use nominal available gas volume from the cylinder label or supplier.
Estimated cylinder life
Complete events are rounded down; days are based on the entered daily use.
Translate cylinder volume into practical test capacity
The calculation reserves part of the cylinder, then divides usable gas by gas consumed in each event.
Confirm nominal volume
Use the gas volume shown on the cylinder label or supplier documentation.
Include the full event
Add pre-flow, stabilization and actual test time.
Keep a reserve
Avoid planning to consume every listed liter in field operations.

Why are complete events rounded down?
A partial remaining volume may not be enough to complete another test.
Does pressure affect the calculation?
Use nominal gas volume supplied for the cylinder. If only water capacity and pressure are known, a separate compressed-gas calculation is required.
What reserve percentage should I use?
Use a value based on your regulator, supplier guidance and operating practice. Ten percent is only a planning example.
Why might the real cylinder life be shorter?
Connection losses, temperature, pressure, regulator behavior and residual gas can reduce usable volume.
Need help applying the result?
